Stan has been a natural boxer since the age of 14 when he first started to box. The son of a former professional fighter, his father, Stan has been in the gym since he was a little boy watching his father train but it was only at the age of 14 when Stan decided to give boxing a try. Not only did Stan's father box professionally but his grandfather and his uncle both boxed in the former Soviet Union. Stan had the natural abilities to box when he started. When he entered his first tournament at the age of 15 and had under 10 fights, Stan was able to out box, upset, and beat the best boxers in his weight division. His first tournament he was able to go all the way to the nationals defeating nationals champions back to back and was the only boxer from Nor Cal to make it past the State Championships that year. As Stan was getting older his skills began to develop and his hand speed increased. Stan took on the best fighters in his weight division challenging everyone who considered themselves the best when growing up.

After graduating from high school with an overall GPA of 3.5 in the summer of 2003, Stan took some time off from boxing to decide whether he should continue his career in boxing or go to college. Not wanting go give up his talent in the ring he decided to continue with boxing and get in to college later. In 2005 he entered his first open national tournament, the U.S. Championships. Right off the bat he showed everyone why he is one of the best boxers in the nation. Using his quick hand speed and intelligence in the ring he was able to walk through his weight division with no problem in the Nor Cal championships and walk away with the best boxer award of the tournament. With the win in the regional championships, Stan made his way to the nationals in Colorado Springs, and captured the bronze medal upsetting national champions in his weight division. This was the beginning of "Stan The Man." He captured a spot on the U.S. team. Not only did he make team USA in but he was able to make the 2005 World Cup team. He went on to represent team USA winning gold against Korea defeating the 2004 Olympian, gold against Mexico and also winning gold against the Ireland. His only loss came in the internationals during his first international competition losing a controversial decision to Russia's 2004 Olympic Bronze Medalist. Stan finished the year as the #2 best light weight in the nation and received Nor Cal boxer of the year award and continued to stay at the top of the rankings.

In 2007 a qualifying year for the Olympic box-offs, Stan captured a bronze medal at the National Golden Gloves tournament and received the 2007 Sportsmanship Award. The following week he won the U.S. Regional Championships for the third year in a row qualifying for the biggest tournament of the year, the 2007 Championships. Going into the championships as the #2 ranked lightweight in the nation Stan won the first two preliminaries but fell short of making the Olympic box-offs losing a controversial decision on a tie breaker. Now Stan has set his eyes on the professional ranks. At the age of 22, with over 85 amateur bouts Stan has become one of the most promising prospects in boxing. Standing at 5'10" Stan The Man is looking to make big noise in the junior lightweight division. Speaking two languages fluently, English and Russian Stan has his mind set on his future, business and most of all becoming one of the best fighters in the world . So look out for the new face in boxing Stan "The Man" Martyniouk.
